Hi every1 in 06S4, been wanting to write something in this blog for very very long liao.
but you know....how BUSY we Trs are! hahaha....

on the serious note, this is something tht i wanted to tell you all while writing the remarks for ur result slip.

As i was writing, i tried to recall how u all were like when you all first stepped into this classrm. As a class - 06S4. That was like sooooooo long ago. but in reality, only 4 mths ago.

i rem being very excited about this class. I rem telling ppl ard me, including other trs, friends, family, how happy i was, having such a fun class. The students were spontaneous, chirpy, lively and seemed so united. As students in this class discussed how to celebrate one another's birthdays, what to put on the notice board, how o organise the classrm arrangement etc, i was feeling so proud of having such wonderful students.

Days passed.

After more than 80 official school days, i wondered to myself. What happened to the students whom i was once so proud of?

As i wrote those remarks, i reflected.

From the regular preaching, persuading, and all the tell-u-nicely advices to the harsh yelling, screaming, shouting, lecturing and the commando-type cum mad-dog-barking, did all these make any difference in anyone of you? Have all of you became immuned to the so-often scolding?
Did you change for better or worse?
Did anyone of you improve in your attitude towards your studies (punctuality for classes and submission of assignment), discipline (noise level and cleanliness), classmates (mingling ard classmates other than ppl in your clique) and things like IRP, responsibility, respect...

What had gone wrong? I thought to myself as i looked through your results. Was there something that i did not do well? Was there something wrong with the way i teach? Was there something tht i did not do? Or was there something that i've done.

I saw this "banner" outside the class beside us.
Tell you frankly, i was quite upset upon seeing tht.
It only shows tht after so long, ppl ard us still think we are noisy. They still think 06S4 cant have proper discipline, are inconsiderate, and cant learn after soooooo long.
Is there a chance, we can prove to others that we are much much better than this??


I know many of you are unhappy abt the seating arrangement.
I've justified my actions.
And to put it blatantly, i wan to split up the cliques.
There is nothing wrong with forming cliques. There is nothing wrong with you staying close to ppl you are comfortable with. But remember, you are 06S4. you come as a class.
A CLASS.
So i wan you all to mingle as a class.

I wan all of you to have a chance to interact with the rest of the pple in the class. To lend a helping hand to your fellow classmates, and not just friends in your cliques.
Some1 asked, why not just let you all sit where u wan. But if tht's so, why come as a class?
Might as well each clique take a classrm.
Give your classmate a chance to know you, give yourself a chance too.

Let me tap on your memory. School carnival. Class T-shirt.
Any sniff of class spirit?

As you belong to cliques, let me remind you that you need to be also sensitive to others in the class.
Be sensitive.

I know or, as i observed, i see ppl starting to buck up and start studying.
tht's something i felt very heartening. Keep it up.

I may teach you chemistry - an academic subject, but i also want to teach you other stuffs. Stuffs and skills which you will grow with, stuffs and skills which will be useful to you after you step out of the sch. Things tht you will keep for the rest of your life.
Things like respect, responsibility, social skills, commitment, etc etc...

On the ending note,
let's keep our spirit high, and SOAR!!!
